Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Canoe Guides to lead outdoor water adventures for our diverse group of participants. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your love of nature, water sports, and outdoor education while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for teaching others about canoeing and water safety. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus, enabling us to serve a broader community. This position involves guiding groups on scenic waterways, providing instruction, and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead guided canoe trips, ensuring all participants follow safety protocols and enjoy their experience
  • Provide clear instructions on paddling techniques, water safety, and environmental awareness
  • Monitor weather conditions and water levels to adapt plans accordingly
  • Assist participants with equipment setup, fitting life jackets, and launching canoes
  • Educate guests about local wildlife, ecology, and conservation efforts during trips
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of equipment before and after trips
  • Manage group dynamics to foster a positive, inclusive environment
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or safety concerns during outings

Skills

  • Strong public speaking skills to engage participants of all ages and backgrounds
