Compensation

  • Live-In Shift (24 hours): $620/shift (fixed-rate)
  • Training Shifts: $25/h

Job Description

As a Support Worker with Aeon Youth Services, you will play a key role in creating a safe, stable, and supportive environment for our clients. Using a relationship-centric approach, you will help clients develop life skills, strengthen cultural and community connections, and navigate daily routines in a healthy and empowering way.

You will work within a small, consistent team to provide:

  • Emotional Support: building trust, modelling healthy communication, and helping clients regulate emotions.
  • Physical Support: ensuring safety, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining household routines and standards.
  • Social Support: promoting community involvement, cultural engagement, and positive relationship-building.

Support Workers contribute to a functional household by maintaining cleanliness, planning routines, organizing activities, and modelling appropriate behaviour. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm and grounded during challenging situations.

Experience

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds:

  • Candidates with strong life experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with at-risk clients is an asset.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Diploma in Human Services, Social Sciences or related fields OR equivalent experience is preferred.

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Basic First-Aid or WorkSafeBC recognized equivalent
  • FOODSAFE Level 1
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract

  • Provincial Centralized Screening Check
  • Out-of-country Criminal Record Check (if candidate has lived outside of Canada for 6 continuous months in the past 5 years since turning 18.)
