Job description:

  • Install curtain wall framing, aluminum frames and entrances, doors and hardware, structural silicone glazing and sloped glazing
  • Lay out, measure, and install/replace architectural glass and metal components and air/vapour barriers in systems such as entrance ways, windows, skylights, and curtain walls
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, or exteriors of building
  • Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or mouldings
  • Work with and install plastics, aluminum panels and other similar materials used as glass substitutes
  • Repair and service commercial windows, aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant
  • Work from mobile equipment, scaffolds, and swing stages
  • Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings
  • Install pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines
  • Assist skilled labourer when necessary
  • Prep sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards
  • Load and unload construction materials
  • Follow instruction from supervisors
  • Ready to learn on-the-job training when necessary
  • Perform site clean up

Requirements

  • High degree of safety awareness and commitment to safety, their own and other workers
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel (11-day runs)
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Driver’s License an asset
  • Criminal Record Check – Level 2
