Elma Water Technologies — serving the GTA since 1994 — is hiring a Retail Sales Associate for our showroom at First Markham Place. We're a specialist water purification business that expanded into premium kitchen and bath fixtures when our store was renovated a year ago. Water purification is our heritage and still a large part of our business; the kitchen and bath side is our growing story. The person in this role will work across both.

This is a single-staff showroom with a loyal local following. You'll run the day-to-day, greet every customer, and build the kind of relationships that bring people back.

Our curated brand lineup includes Hansgrohe, Axor, Grohe, Riobel, Brizo, TOTO, and Duravit on the kitchen and bath side, plus our own water purification line — drinking water systems, whole-house treatment, and replacement filters.

A note on the role: This is a steady, long-term position in a single-staff store. We're looking for someone who enjoys the rhythm of retail and wants to build real expertise in our product lines over time. Strong performers may have opportunities at our affiliated Richmond Hill kitchen and bath showroom, where responsibilities broaden — but the heart of this role is consistent, attentive service at First Markham Place. What you'll do

• Greet customers and help them choose the right kitchen and bath fixtures, drinking water system, or whole-house water treatment for their needs
• Sell replacement filters and book in-home service appointments with our technicians for larger work
• Prepare quotes, process sales, and follow up on leads
• Keep the showroom looking sharp
• Coordinate with our affiliated Richmond Hill showroom for product support, technical questions, and inventory

What we're looking for

• Customer-service mindset, warmth, and the ability to build rapport. This is a solo-staffed store — your ability to make customers feel welcomed and understood is what brings them back.
• Cantonese or Mandarin required; fluency in both is ideal. Our customer base at First Markham Place is roughly evenly split between Cantonese and Mandarin speakers. You'll need to serve both comfortably. English is also required — for communication with our main location, suppliers, and English-speaking customers.
• Retail or service sales experience. Ideally in a Chinese-customer environment — First Markham Place, Pacific Mall, or similar. Backgrounds in water treatment, HVAC, appliances, telecom/wireless, luxury retail, cosmetics, jewellery, or hospitality all translate well.
• Willingness to learn the technical side. We'll train you on both our fixture lines and our water purification systems — you just need to be curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable explaining how things work to customers. Experience with kitchen and bath products, water treatment, home renovations, or premium retail is a plus but not required.

Compensation & benefits

• Total earnings 55,000–75,000/year (Salary + Commission + Bonus)

Schedule

Store is currently open 7 days a week, 11am–7pm. Schedule is rotating and may be adjusted.
