About Birdie: We are a growing mobile app platform focusing on meeting the childcare needs of busy Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Canmore/Banff, and Kelowna families. Our goal is to attract the best sitters and in turn, provide the best service to Birdie customers when they need it most. We are interested in outgoing personalities who enjoy people, especially little ones, and who are incredibly reliable - reliability is a key! Birdie sitters on the Birdie Break platform are reliable and hard-working, committed to making a positive impact on families and children’s lives.

Who are Birdie Sitters?

Birdie sitters are interested in changing the way we approach childcare. Birdie sitters contribute to a healthy family dynamic by empowering parents to take the much-needed breaks they require to rejuvenate and be better parents (datenights, self-love pampering time, breaks with friends, vacations with the kids but wanting an adult night out etc). In addition, we have many clients who are working from home and need a sitter to come to the house to help entertain the children while the parent’s work.

As a Birdie Sitter on the Birdie Break platform, you are an independent contractor and can work as little or as much as you want. Jobs consistently come through our network from our parents, you view the location/number and ages of children/any pets and other important details for the booking, and you can choose to apply to pick up the shift! You are an independent contractor and as such can set your own hourly rate and choose your own schedule.

We are currently seeking:

You choose the shifts in the app that work within your schedule! Shifts can be as short as 2 hours up to 8 hours.

Salary: $15-$20/hour for regular shifts (parent requests with more than 24 hours) or $21-$25/hr surge shifts (parent requests within 24 hours) recommended rates. You are an Independent Contractor and as such choose your own rate and can change your rate per family per booking!

To be a successful Birdie Sitter, you:

• Are 18 years old or older;
• Are available to work daytime;
• Enjoy providing care and leadership for kids;
• Have strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents;
• Have at least 1 year of childcare related experience;
• A current Police Information Check (or willingness to obtain one) We provide a link where you can get one online in 15 mins;
• A CPR/ First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one) We provide a link where you can get it online in 1 hour;
