Meals on Wheels/la Popote roulante

Saturday Coordinator (part-time, 4 hours per week)

Job Description

1. Checking the messages on the answering machine and taking the required action for any related to Saturday delivery. This includes calling the kitchen prior to 10:00 am to cancel any meals and replacing any volunteers who call to say they are unable to do their route.

All other messages are to be saved for the Monday staff.

2. Phoning the Saturday volunteers to give them messages related to changes in their delivery routes.

3. Answering the phone and responding to requests/inquiries.

4. Assisting volunteers on delivery by phoning clients who don’t answer the door.

5. Making contact with the emergency contact for any client who does not answer the door.

Contacting the Saturday backup staff in situations where no emergency contact can be reached.

6. Completing the Saturday Activity Log and Volunteer Tracking Form.

7. Completing other duties as assigned.

8. Ensuring the security of the MOW offices and the TGC building if required at the end of the shift.

REPORTING TO:

The Executive Director .

The Saturday Coordinator position has been designated as a bilingual position by the Board of

Directors effective February 2017. This means that the person in the position must have full command of both English and French.

Must be able to pass a police records check.
