Battlefield – Positive Play
The Battlefield Positive Play team is dedicated to protecting our titles by mitigating the impact of bad actors. We collaborate with partner teams to create new services and initiatives that ensure our players enjoy a fair and positive gaming experience. Join us in keeping Battlefield fair and equitable, now and into the future. This will be a six-month temp role including benefits.
Summary
Are you passionate about creating a safe and fair gaming environment for all players? Do you have the skills to analyze player behaviors and detect bad actors in online games? Do you believe that every player deserves a fun and fair gaming experience? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
As a Game Integrity Analyst on the Battlefield Positive Play team, you will monitor, investigate, and create detections for behaviors that violate the game's Terms of Service and Code of Conduct. You will use various tools to identify and track cheaters, hackers, and other disruptive players, collaborating with the other EA teams to take appropriate actions to remove the negative impacts from the game experience.
You will conduct investigations into toxic behaviors, suspected cheating, and emerging exploits—validating reports and creating/improving detections. You will also evaluate data from various tools, gather and review threat intelligence, and support our anti-cheat and user-generated content (UGX) protection pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze player behaviors and activities.
- Perform triage and investigations of enforcement appeals.
- Develop processes and systems to act on verified bad actors.
- Apply enforcements according to our Terms of Service using current processes and systems.
- Gather threat intelligence to support anti-cheat and UGX efforts.
- Document and escalate confirmed bad actor cases to appropriate teams.
- Communicate task progress and blockers to the team.
- Coordinate with other EA teams for consistent positive play enforcement.
- Provide feedback to improve the game's security, anti-cheat, and moderation solutions.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in security analysis, fraud detection, or online gaming enforcement.
- 1+ years of experience as a SOC Tier 1 analyst working with SIEM technologies.
- Reverse Engineering experience with video games is favored.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Familiarity with online gaming platforms and technologies (EA Play, Steam, Xbox Live, PSN, etc.).
- Knowledge of common cheating, hacking, exploiting, and griefing methods and countermeasures.
- Basic knowledge of operating system fundamentals (processes, threads, virtual memory, etc.).
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like PowerBI, Excel, Tableau, etc.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for gaming and positive play.
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- An ability to identify knowledge gaps and seek the right sources to close those gaps.
- Ability to safely handle potentially malicious software.
- Quick learner of new technical skills.
We adopt a holistic approach to our benefits programs, emphasizing physical, emotional, financial, career, and community wellness to support a balanced life. Our packages are tailored to meet local needs and may include healthcare coverage, mental well-being support, retirement savings, paid time off, family leaves, complimentary games, and more. We nurture environments where our teams can always bring their best to what they do.
