Position: Logistics Coordinator

Location: Etobicoke South

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator manages the shipper receiver and all shipping routes and delivery aspects, specifically for our shipping operations to and from Canada and the USA. The ideal candidate will have experience handling cross-border requirements and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all Finished Goods movement and inventories.
  • Complete appropriate logistic documentation and record-keeping.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all export activity, including FDA and cross-border clearance.
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts, recording, and reconciliation.
  • I handled finished goods inventory management and maintained the inventory database.
  • Set up customer pick-up appointments and schedule inbound and outbound delivery appointments.
  • Ensure smooth operational running of production needs.
  • Handle purchase order documents, waybills, and goods receivable documents based on BRC and GMP standards.
  • Keep track of inventory, sales, and purchase records for products.
  • Responsible for creating daily receiving documents and customers' bill of lading documents.
  • Work with selected freight forwarders, negotiating rates and contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to provide shipping and freight forwarding quotations.
  • Archive and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Maintain a proper level of Chep skids inventory, controlling its movement and costs through the Chep website.
  • Clear shipments across the border by working with our broker.
  • Manage shipments with carriers such as ATS, UPS, and Amazon.
  • Follow BRC, HACCP, and GMP rules.
  • Other duties as assigned, including training to cover temporary absences of other staff.

Critical Requirements:

  • They must be in a similar role.
  • Minimum five years of logistics experience.
  • Experienced in a manufacturing environment (food highly preferred).
  • Degree preferred or production management education background.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive all incoming raw ingredients and match the product to lot#.
  • Ship finished goods and manage inventory.
  • Handle outstanding shipments and manually invoice.
  • Verify all invoices from carriers and negotiate shipment rates.
  • Ensure quality issues are resolved with incoming products.
  • Manage shipping and tracking of orders.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role, with specific expertise in shipping to and from the USA.
  • Strong knowledge of cross-border shipping regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in logistics software and systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
