Landscape Construction & Maintenance Labourer
Pay: CA$20.00–CA$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Office Location: Burnaby, BC (projects across the Lower Mainland)

What You’ll Be Doing:
Your primary focus will be landscape construction across the Lower Mainland, working on the installation and development of outdoor spaces including patios, retaining walls, stairs, stonework, planting areas, ponds, and water features.
Most workdays will begin by meeting the crew directly at the project site, where you’ll assist with construction tasks, site preparation, material handling, and installation work.
From time to time, you may also support landscape maintenance projects. For maintenance work, team members will typically meet at our office to connect with the crew lead, load equipment, and travel to job sites as needed.
Landscape Construction (Primary Focus):
- Assist in building patios, retaining walls, stairs, and stonework
- Support site preparation, grading, and material handling
- Install sod, plants, trees, and general softscape materials
- Assist with planting, soil preparation, and garden bed installation
- Help with artificial turf installation and landscape upgrades
- Assist with pond and water feature construction and enhancements
- Operate hand tools and basic compaction equipment under supervision
Landscape & Pond Maintenance (Secondary Focus):
- Maintain ponds, waterfalls, streams, and water features
- Remove algae, debris, sediment, and organic buildup
- Clean and maintain pumps, filters, and lighting systems
- Inspect water features for performance, maintenance, and safety issues
- Weed, prune, edge, and maintain garden beds and planted areas
- Perform mulching, seasonal cleanups, and general property maintenance
- Maintain artificial turf and softscape areas
- Assist with irrigation and general property upkeep
- Work around fish, frogs, insects, and other natural site conditions
General Duties:
- Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
- Move soil, rock, boulders, and landscape materials
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all safety procedures and WorkSafeBC guidelines
- Communicate professionally with team members and clients
Who You Are:
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working around water and natural environments
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing manual labour
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Take pride in quality work and attention to detail
- Have basic communication skills and a positive attitude
- Have steel-toed waterproof boots and a strong safety mindset
Bonus Skills
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Experience driving trucks or towing trailers
- Experience with landscaping tools or small machinery
- Experience using pressure washers
- Basic knowledge of plants, irrigation, or pond systems
- WHMIS or First Aid certification
Physical Outdoor Work Expectations:
This role is physically demanding and includes lifting, bending, carrying materials, working in and around water, and performing outdoor work in all weather conditions across the Lower Mainland.
