Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team, working primarily on Sundays and Mondays. Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, friendly and extremely professional. All training is provided.

Work Schedule

Training (Summer):

Sundays: 10:30 AM - 6 PM

Mondays: 11 AM - 7 PM

Saturdays: 11 AM - 7 PM

Regular Schedule (September onwards):

Sundays: 10:30 AM - 6 PM

Mondays: 11 AM - 7 PM

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures at the front desk
  • Performing administrative duties, such as: scheduling appointments, authorizing insurance and billing, data entry, and managing inventory.
  • Preparing patients for eye examinations: pre-testing patients using eye-testing machines, performing depth and color perception tests, performing retinal imaging scans, and educating patients on proper contact lens care. All training will be provided.
  • Assists with the cleaning and disinfection of office equipment and exam rooms

Experience

  • Experience in a similar setting is an asset but not a must.
  • Experience with contact lens wear is an asset but not a must.

Pay: $17.75 per hour
