Job Summary

We are a local glass company that operates out of BC and serves the Metro Vancouver area. We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Experienced Accountant & Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations.

You will also be required to assist the scheduler/office administrator.

We're looking for a person with a can-do attitude and the ability to learn on-the-spot. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your skills in accounting software and financial services will drive operational excellence and strategic decision-making. This is an in-person position. You will not have the option for a hybrid or remote work setup.

You will be compensated on an hourly basis, and provided a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities

• Assist reception with phone calls and emails
• Assist scheduler with scheduling appointments and glass technician daily schedules
• Call customers to confirm/book appointments
• Order glass based on glass technician specifications
• Attend meeting and create meeting minutes
• Track and collect receipts
• Keep track of on-going jobs
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis
• Collaborate with glass technicians and office staff to streamline processes
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
• Perform detailed account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to maintain precise financial records
• Utilize QuickBooks, and others to record, track, and analyze financial data
• Conduct regular bookkeeping activities, including ledger maintenance and transaction posting
• Support corporate finance functions through budgeting, account analysis, and financial reporting
• Assist with auditing procedures by preparing documentation and supporting audit requests
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Collaborate with team members on financial services projects to optimize processes and improve accuracy
• Collect and process payments
• Create quotes and invoices
• Collect overdue payments
• Provide monthly financial reports to management

Requirements

• Professional written and spoken English
• Proven experience QuickBooks Online is REQUIRED
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
• Ability to learn new concepts, programs and tools
• Familiarity with corporate finance principles including budgeting and financial reporting
• Experience in bookkeeping, payroll management, and auditing procedures
• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and bank reconciliation tasks accurately
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively
• CPA certification is an asset
• Quickbooks Online Certification is an asset
