Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Ophthalmology Eye Care Technician to join our dynamic team. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support ophthalmologists in delivering top-tier eye care. You will be instrumental in patient interactions, assisting with examinations, and managing clinical documentation to ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties

  • Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
  • Prepare patients for eye exams by taking medical histories and explaining procedures clearly
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment, including those used for visual acuity testing and intraocular pressure measurement
  • Manage electronic medical records accurately using systems like Epic, ensuring all patient data is current and complete
  • Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient inquiries
  • Provide exceptional patient care by addressing questions, offering guidance, and ensuring a positive experience
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting or optical environment is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or similar platforms
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to ophthalmology and pediatrics is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages, including children
  • Background in retail sales or sales experience is a plus for promoting optical products and services
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of optical equipment operation and basic understanding of medical procedures related to eye care
