About the Role

SageLink is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to support operations on oil & gas drilling rig sites. This role requires expertise in track-hoe excavators operation, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in remote locations under demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CAT 320 or 312 track-hoe excavators efficiently and safely on oil & gas drilling sites.
  • Conduct daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on the excavator.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment, ensuring it remains in optimal working condition.
  • Secure and manage special attachments as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with drilling crews, maintaining effective communication.
  • Travel to various rural rig locations in Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Prioritize safety by following all company and industry safety standards.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Rotation: 20 days on, 10 days off.
  • Annual Salary: $103,000 - $132,000, based on performance and availability.
  • Retention Bonus: Eligible for an annual retention bonus.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), and H2S Alive certification.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 1,500+ hours operating a track-hoe excavator.
  • Oil & gas drilling rig experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in high-risk environments.
  • Strong communication skills (phone, text, email).
  • Teamwork, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.

Fit for Duty Requirements:

  • All SageLink worksites are cannabis-free and drug & alcohol-free.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and maintain zero tolerance while on duty.
  • Must reside in Alberta or British Columbia (excluding Vancouver Island) to ensure reliable travel to rig sites.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in harsh weather conditions and demanding schedules.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $103,000.00-$132,000.00 per year
