About the Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving all field operations across multiple service lines, including Front Load, Roll Off, Portable Toilets & Fencing, and Junk Removal. This role provides strategic, operational, and people leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery.

Location: Calgary

Job Type: Fulltime, Regular

Weekly Hours: 40 hours

Start Date: ASAP

What you’ll do

· Demonstrate strong, people‑first leadership and emotional intelligence.

· Actively engage with drivers and field staff daily to build trust, assess performance, and reinforce expectations.

· Ensure consistent scheduling practices and appropriate staffing levels based on demand and seasonality.

· Monitor attendance, performance, and compliance with company policies and SOPs.

· Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.

· Track, analyze, and report on key operational KPIs, including productivity, fuel usage, service times, and labor efficiency.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of management experience in waste management, recycling, junk removal, fleet operations, or similar industries. Experience in a safety leadership role as strong asset.

· Hands-on experience operating Front Load, Roll-off, 5-ton trucks, or other vehicles of similar size and functionality.

· Proven ability to coach, train, mentor, and lead by example.

· Working knowledge of safety programs, COR requirements, and incident investigation.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

· Valid Class 3 license with air brakes and a clean driving record.

· Manual dexterity required to work with tools and equipment.
