Westisle Heating & Cooling is an established HVAC company serving the Comox Valley and surrounding Vancouver Island communities. We specialize in residential and commercial heating, cooling, refrigeration, and mechanical systems, providing professional installations, maintenance, and service repairs.

As our company continues to grow, we are looking to add a skilled and motivated HVAC Refrigeration Technician to our team.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration Apprentice (ideally 3rd or 4th year) or certified Journeyman to join our team in a full-time, year-round position.

This is a diverse role involving residential and commercial HVAC installations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and service repairs. The successful candidate should be comfortable working on a variety of equipment, have strong mechanical aptitude, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and repair residential and commercial HVAC equipment, including heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, rooftop units, and related mechanical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related equipment issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Complete residential and commercial HVAC installations, replacements, and upgrades.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide recommendations regarding equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Complete accurate service reports and work orders using our service management software.
• Work independently or alongside other technicians to complete jobs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experienced Refrigeration Apprentice (3rd or 4th year preferred) or certified Refrigeration Journeyman.
• Experience with residential and/or commercial HVAC installation, service, and maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, organized, and motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
• Gas fitting experience or certification considered an asset.
• Willingness to continue learning and developing technical skills.
