Job Title: Hand Spray Finisher

Key Responsibilities: This role will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying finishes using spray equipment, ensuring quality control, maintaining equipment, and following safety regulations in a woodworking and manufacturing environment.

Location: Kitchener, ON

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Salary: $23.00 - 27.00 per hour, commensurate based on experience

Benefits: Includes Extended Health, Dental, AD&D, Life Insurance, RRSP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the onsite Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:

  • Using spray equipment to apply paint and other materials to finished products.
  • Clean and preparation of surfaces using such processes as sanding, scraping and grinding.
  • Monitor and identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct the cause.
  • Sand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning duties.
  • Ensure all paint related waste is properly labeled, stored and disposed of.
  • Maintain paint booth and associated equipment to ensure proper working condition
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules, government regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the workplace is a safe and clean work environment.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • 3 years spray/finisher experience in a millwork or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous industrial painting/coating experience required
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude respectful and friendly communication, and a team player
  • Proficient with paint system and booth maintenance procedures.
  • Must be able to operate lifting devices for movement of parts.
  • Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization.
  • Salary negotiable based on experience.
