TORLYS is currently hiring for one Territory Manager to service the Eastern GTA to Ottawa territory.

* This role is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in building and maintaining strong relationships with Eastern Ontario clients to drive customer satisfaction and new business opportunities. Compensation for this role includes Base Salary Plus Variable Commissions. Annual Compensation: $100K - $130K+.

This role supports the Eastern GTA to Ottawa territory and requires regular travel throughout the region. We are particularly interested in candidates who reside in or around Whitby, Peterborough, Kingston, or Ottawa, Ontario, as these locations provide strong access to the assigned territory.

The successful candidate should reside within the territory, which extends from Scarborough to Ottawa. Qualified candidates located elsewhere within the territory will also be considered. This position requires approximately 5–6 overnight stays per month, depending on where the successful candidate resides.

Under the leadership of the Regional Sales Director – Ontario & Atlantic, the Territory Manager will be responsible for selling company products (through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas); reaching your business targets (through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites); and also ongoing development of profitable relationships with customers while continuing to maintain a professional image of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, contact customer base on a prompt and regular basis to ensure excellent customer satisfaction and for any newly acquired customers
  • Seek market information on market conditions, competitive products, services, and pricing to share with your fellow co-workers.
  • Create opportunities for applications of products through promotion to designers, architects, contractors, owners, suppliers, and trade shows when necessary
  • Manage customer expectations and handle issues and complaints professionally
  • Achieve and exceed sales quotas and objectives
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base and other communications processes
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Build and foster an industry network to create new opportunities for growth.
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold calling if necessary.
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
  • Use marketing data using applicable sales software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Periodically conduct Product Knowledge (PK) presentations to create product & company awareness.
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research.
  • Abide and follow company guidelines when it comes to Health & Safety, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Supports other business activities as required

Qualifications

· High School Diploma is a necessity

· University Degree/College Diploma a definite asset

· Minimum 5 years of flooring sales experience (retail or wholesale) required

  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
  • Professional demeanour, selling style, and appearance.
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management.
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
  • Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and/or passport.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Minimum 5 years of regional territory sales experience, preferably within the flooring industry
  • Strong knowledge of the builder industry within the assigned territory is considered a strong asset
  • Strong business development and prospecting ("hunter") skills with a proven ability to generate new business
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Frequent travel required to consult with clients/dealers, conduct demonstrations, attend meetings, conferences, seminars, etc.
  • Position requires set-up of displays, which involves a certain amount of physical effort.
  • Frequent travel is required, including approximately 40,000–60,000 km of driving annually. A reliable vehicle is required for this position.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to variable weather conditions is likely.
