Full job description

Northern Canning is a mobile canning company based out of the GTA, PEC and Ottawa that packages mainly craft beer, cider, seltzer, wine and other beverages all over southern Ontario. Part of the job requires travelling to the warehouse in Bolton, but other days you may just travel directly to the job site or a meeting point if it's closer to your home.

Our team consists of hard working, detail oriented individuals with a passion for craft beer and the goal to impact the local beverage market in a positive way. We are independently owned and owner operated. Please see more about who we are at www.northerncanning.com or @northerncanning on social.

We are currently looking to add a Canning Line Operator or Mobile Canning Technician to the team. The person who fills this role plays a key part in the packaging process and will be travelling in the company truck & trailer, or sometimes in their own vehicle, to job sites and operating the accessory equipment to efficiently package our customers' beverages into cans. We work in over 100 craft breweries, integrating packaging with the customer's brewing equipment and ensure a safe and high quality packaging environment.

Responsibilities:

- Operate canning line, labeller, depalletizer, date coder and other accessory equipment

- Communicate clearly with customers about requirements and quality to ensure smooth operation, high quality service and customer satisfaction

- Routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment

- Prepping truck and trailer with materials for each job

- Strongly enforcing quality control measures and accurate statistical tracking

- Working closely with brewery owners, brewers and packaging staff

- Troubleshooting beer conditions as well as mechanical problems, applying fixes on the fly

Requirements:

- You're passionate about the craft beverage market and willing to learn some new skills to enter the industry OR have previous packaging experience

- You enjoy working with your hands and have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair equipment on site (MacGyver skills are a big plus)

- You're a self starter who takes pride in their work and is dedicated to getting the job done right

- Traveling to different craft breweries all over the province sounds like a cool perk to you

- Ability to communicate and stay positive while working with all different types of personalities and customers

- Attention to detail; you notice when things are slightly askew and are able to identify irregularities in operation early on

- Reliable access to your own transportation and a clean driving record are a must. Not every shift starts at the warehouse in Bolton, but at least a couple a week do.

- Experience driving a trailer is a bonus, but by no means a requirement
