Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician/Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and previous experience in retail pharmacy settings. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient health and safety while developing your skills in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
  • Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering medication guidance under supervision
  • Manage inventory, including stocking, labeling, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies
  • Maintain detailed records of medication dispensation and patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper handling of medications and maintaining a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care activities and medication management

Skills

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail pharmacy setting is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications
  • Compassionate patient care skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is a plus
  • Basic understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards related to medication handling

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
