We are seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support our ongoing commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence across our job sites. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented safety professional who thrives in both field and office environments.

Functions of the job:

Site Safety & Inspections

  • Conduct regular site visits
  • Perform safety inspections and identify risks
  • Recommend and implement safety improvements and controls

Training & Coaching

  • Coordinate and deliver safety training programs
  • Audit employee certifications and ensure compliance
  • Support new hire onboarding and ongoing training needs

Incident Investigation & Reporting

  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist with WSIB documentation and return-to-work coordination

Compliance & Program Management

  • Ensure compliance with OHSA, MOL, WSIB, and other regulations
  • Develop and update company safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings

Subcontractor & Project Support

  • Review subcontractor safety programs and qualifications
  • Prepare project-specific safety plans for clients and sites

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain emergency response plans
  • Stay current with legislative changes
  • Contribute to internal safety communications

Who is the Ideal Candidate?:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Health & Safety or related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in construction or similar industry
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) certification an asset
  • Familiarity with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program an asset
  • Elevated Work Platform & Lift Truck Train the Trainer an asset
  • CPO approved Worker at Heights Instructor an asset
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification an asset
  • Valid G-class driver’s license (travel required)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
