COMPANY OVERVIEW

Clinical Director (NP or MD) - Independent Contractor Role

The PrEP Clinic / Ontario Prevention Clinic +pharmacy is a specialized sexual health practice within the Boggio Family of Pharmacies. We are a province-wide leader in online HIV prevention (PrEP) and sexual health services operating since 2019. In addition to online care, we offer in-person sexual health clinics and pharmacy services in Toronto, Ottawa, and Brampton. Our inclusive space provides services to many within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

We are a highly experienced and inter-collaborative team of Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians/Assistants, and Social Workers - and currently expanding our team of 60+ team members.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and team-oriented individual with strong leadership abilities to join our dynamic team in the role of Clinical Director & Nurse Practitioner/Medical Doctor.

The clinic strongly believes in equality, diversity, and actively engages in supporting antiracism in the workplace and for our patients. Team members are respected and recognized for their work. Experience with diverse populations, especially the 2SLGBTQ+ community, is an asset and required.

SUMMARY

Reporting to the clinic owners, the Clinical Director & Nurse Practitioner/Medical Doctor is a dual role combining hands-on patient care with clinical leadership. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality HIV prevention and sexual health services while setting clinical direction, mentoring the Nurse Practitioner team, and driving continuous quality improvement across the practice. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of the clinic and supporting preventative health throughout Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Care

  • Prescribe, monitor, and provide follow-up care related to HIV prevention and affiliated sexual health patient needs.
  • Maintain an ongoing patient roster with timely follow-up, prioritizing cases requiring urgent attention.
  • Provide in-person care at the Toronto clinic location.
  • Maintain reasonable availability aligned with business needs, primarily Monday - Thursday.
  • Support the maintenance and regular updating of patient records and clinical documentation.

Leadership & Clinical Direction

  • Support and lead clinical direction and decision-making in collaboration with the clinic owners.
  • Manage the NP clinical practice, providing mentorship and leading the training of new team members, including routine team meetings and communications.
  • Draft, implement, and maintain clinic protocols and procedures.
  • Champion quality and continuous improvement in the delivery of clinical care.
  • Engage and collaborate with the NP team and clinic management for training and ongoing quality control.

Collaboration

  • Partner with clinic and pharmacy team members to support integrated, mutual patient care.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned within the scope of the clinic and the role of a Nurse Practitioner.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Active registration in good standing as a Nurse Practitioner with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • Deep understanding of CNO or CPSO standards, Ontario healthcare regulations, and privacy compliance (PHIPA).
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with experience in a formal leadership role.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in HIV (PrEP/PEP), sexual health, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven leadership, mentorship, and team development skills.
  • Experience developing clinical protocols, procedures, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion and commitment to inclusive, stigma-free, patient-centred care.
  • Comfort working in a collaborative pharmacy–clinic environment.
  • Familiarity with clinic software systems.

WHY JOIN US?

  • Be part of a growing organization making a tangible impact on 2SLGBTQ+ preventative health.
  • Excellent team culture, where we put patients first to provide the best care in the communities we care for.
  • Ability to implement change and bring new ideas to life in the healthcare space.
  • High autonomy and flexibility – we trust you to lead with confidence, adapt as needed, and shape the clinic’s success your way.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Certification and licensing reimbursement.

Qualified candidates are invited to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their relevant experience in HIV prevention and sexual health care, along with their leadership background. We thank all applicants for their interest and only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
