Horst Systems is hiring a Junior to Intermediate Warehouse/Yard Associate to support our daily yard and warehouse operations at our Elmira location.

This is a vacant position currently available and is full-time permanent working approximately 50 hours per week on a straight day shift, Monday through Friday.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in loading and unloading materials from flatbed trailers with a telehandler, organizing inventory, complete shipping and receiving, and maintaining a safe and efficient yard that supports our warehouse and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities

Material Handling & Equipment Operation

  • Load and unload deliveries of steel, grain system components, and other materials
  • Safely operate forklifts and telehandlers to move, stage, and organize items

Yard & Warehouse Organization

  • Sort and stage customer orders for storage or shipment
  • Assist with warehouse and yard housekeeping tasks to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Return usable materials to stock and dispose of scrap appropriately

Safety & Maintenance

  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Inspect equipment before use and report any issues or maintenance needs
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Other duties may be assigned as needed to support operations.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction setting an asset
  • Forklift and telehandler certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Inventory control experience preferred
  • Shipping and Receiving experience prefered
  • Comfortable lifting up to 75 lbs and working outdoors year-round
  • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive with strong communication skills
  • Team-oriented with attention to detail and pride in safe, efficient work
