Full job description

Qualifications – Ontario Healthcare Facility
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Canadian Medical Laboratory Technologist experience (required)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 3-month assignment with possibility of extension
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Accommodations: Provided
  • Travel: Covered
  • Hours: Full-time
Responsibilities:
Medical Laboratory Technologists are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Perform laboratory testing and analysis on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team by providing timely and accurate laboratory information
  • Maintain accurate patient records, laboratory documentation, and quality control logs in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, infection prevention practices, and CMLTO professional standards
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift, with specific guidance provided during site orientation.

Experience:
  • 2 years of relevant Canadian Medical Laboratory Technologist experience (required)
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills, clinical judgment, and attention to detail
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen processing, testing, and documentation
  • Commitment to maintaining quality assurance, patient safety, and professional laboratory standards
