Full job description

General Production Summary:

The General Production Associate is responsible for performing hands-on manufacturing tasks to support production schedules and meet customer requirements. This role requires a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Associates are expected to actively participate in production activities, follow standardized work instructions, and contribute to a team-based environment.

ECL is seeking individuals who are motivated to learn, willing to develop new skills, and committed to investing their time and effort into the organization. In return, ECL is committed to supporting associate development through training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES –

  • Perform assigned production tasks in accordance with work instructions, production schedules, and safety requirements.
  • Operate equipment and processes such as solder flush, infiltration, brazing, welding, stamping, sanding, assembly, and other trained operations.
  • Conduct in-process and final quality checks using approved measuring tools and inspection methods as outlined in the Quality Control Plan.
  • Accurately record quality and production data, including SPC data, as required.
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure product meets quality standards and identify non-conforming material.
  • Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Participate in training and cross-training to support skill development and operational flexibility.
  • Communicate quality, safety, or process concerns to the Production Supervisor or Team Lead as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES –

Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing or production processes in an industrial environment.
  • Understanding of quality requirements, inspection methods, and the importance of meeting customer and internal specifications.
  • Awareness of workplace health and safety principles, including safe machine operation, material handling, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement concepts and standardized work practices.

Skills:

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills for measuring, counting, sorting, and recording production data.
  • Ability to use measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail when performing repetitive tasks and quality inspections.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and use production or quality systems; experience with Microsoft Office is an asset.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and adhere to established processes and safety requirements.

Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions and standardized work procedures.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts for quality assurance purposes.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring dexterity and coordination.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a production team.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator, as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE –

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is an asset but not required; training will be provided.

WORKING CONDITIONS –

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing / factory environment.
  • Standing: required for the majority of the shift, approximately 65–70%, while operating equipment and performing production tasks.
  • Walking: required throughout the production area, approximately 20–25% of the shift.
  • Sitting: limited, approximately 5–10% of the shift depending on assigned tasks and typically associated with breaks or brief administrative or documentation activities.
  • Work is performed on 12-hour continental rotation shifts.
  • Work environment may include hot, humid, noisy, or dusty conditions depending on the process and area.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs may be required.
  • Mandatory use of safety boots and required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Hearing, and respiratory protection may be required depending on task and work area.

Schedule:

  • Continental Night Shift 7:00PM-7:00AM
  • Weekends (as scheduled)
  • Holidays

Pay Range:

  • $19.40-$28.00 Per Hour
  • Night shift comes with a $1.50 premium per hour placing starting rate at $20.90/hr
