Full job description

Position Summary

TPI Machine is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of precision-machined components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections of machined parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Inspect critical dimensions, features, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, thread gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Verify API thread profiles and dimensions using applicable thread gauges and standards, and demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant API specifications and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, industry, and company quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
  • Identify, document, and process non-conforming products and assist with NCR investigations.
  • Review material certifications and maintain traceability records.
  • Work closely with production personnel to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of QC inspection experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Thorough understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) – mandatory.
  • Experience inspecting API threaded products and using API thread gauges is considered an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience in oil and gas machining and manufacturing environments.
