Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Clinical Physician Assistant (International Trained Physician – ITP) to join our Integrated Team Practice at our Just walk-in clinic. This role involves working under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide efficient, high-quality ambulatory care in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

The Physician Assistant (ITP) will be responsible for managing a wide range of acute and primary care cases, supporting clinic operations, and ensuring continuity of care through accurate documentation and patient follow-up. Our clinic utilizes Oscar Pro EMR, and this role requires strong coordination with physicians, front desk staff, and other team members to maintain smooth patient flow and standardized care across all locations.

Duties

  • Provide ambulatory care to patients in-clinic.
  • Conduct patient assessments including history taking and formulation of differential diagnoses
  • Order and review investigations (blood work, imaging, specialist reports) under physician supervision
  • Prepare and issue prescriptions as directed by the supervising physician
  • Communicate test results and provide follow-up care, including preventive health counseling and chronic disease management
  • Administer vaccinations, TB skin tests, allergy injections, and other IM/SC medications as required
  • Prepare medical documentation including sick notes, referral letters, and insurance forms (e.g., ODSP, disability tax credit, employment forms)
  • Ensure accurate and timely charting and billing in Oscar Pro EMR
  • Maintain knowledge of pediatric and adult clinical guidelines relevant to walk-in care
  • Support clinic workflow by collaborating with front desk staff to optimize patient flow
  • Maintain awareness of OHIP and non-OHIP services, IFHP, UHIP including proper documentation for billing and uninsured services
  • Work efficiently within standardized clinical protocols across multiple clinic locations
  • Assist in maintaining standardized clinic protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to system development, quality improvement, and potential research initiatives

Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Experience in hospital settings, outpatient clinics, or home care environments
  • Ability to perform Injection, medication administration, and data collection accurately
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatrics
  • Familiarity with research methodologies related to healthcare studies
  • Knowledge of acute care protocols, pain management techniques, and pediatric health issues
  • Medical office experience is a plus for managing administrative tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments
