Are you a self starter? Do you take ownership of your role? Our head office in Vernon is looking to add another member to our team.

A1 Bus has been providing exceptional group transportation services in BC since 2008.

We strive to make each customer’s experience safe, enjoyable and stress-free from the first hello until the end of each trip, while creating a friendly and organized workplace.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a professional and positive attitude, is empathetic to customer needs, team oriented but able to work independently. The candidate can analyze information quickly, pivot while remaining calm under pressure, is a fast learner, technically proficient, engaging, and always looking for solutions. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

This role will provide administrative support the General Manager, along with our Customer Service , Dispatch, Accounting and Service teams as needed.

General duties include:

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow, effective communication and exceptional customer service for both internal and external customers.

Anticipate the needs of others to ensure team members are set up for success and customers receive the service they asked for.

Utilize computerized systems and software to complete tasks efficiently.

Continually strive to find efficiencies in your daily tasks.

Assist with email and phone inquiries, responding to general inquiries and quote requests.

Assist with dispatch duties, including but not limited to checking in with customers, updating details, communicating with drivers.

Assist with accounting and general office duties, including but not limited to processing payments, updating databases, posting transactions.

Gather and organize data, generate reports and presentations.

Complete projects as assigned.

Perform other duties as required.

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Contribute to smooth workflow and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

Previous customer service experience in a related role.

Previous Sage 50 or other invoicing software experience preferred.

Familiar with basic office structure and procedures.

Tech-savvy, proficient in all things google (calendar, sheets, docs, maps, forms etc.).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Adobe, Word).

Superior listening, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to do quick math accurately.

Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively; take initiative.

Ability to navigate multiple databases across multiple platforms.

Ability to manage multiple demanding situations appropriately.

Hold a valid Driver’s License, Class 5 at minimum, but Class 4 or higher preferred.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a professional and positive attitude, is empathetic to customer needs, team oriented and able to work professionally with colleagues. The candidate is able to analyze information quickly, is a fast learner, engaging, and always looking for solutions. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Wages will be dependent on experience.

This is a 0.75 position going to full time in the summer months, with the possibility of additional hours from time to time. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. The right candidate will preferably be ready to start in the next two to four weeks.
