Location: Coaldale, AB

Position: Associate of Member Development, Full-Time

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Associate of Member Development prepares and edits correspondence and documents, manages inbound and outbound calls to support business development, and serves as a first point of contact for staff, members, and the public. This role requires comfort with new technology and the ability to engage with others professionally and diplomatically at all times.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide administrative support to coworkers and management, which may include, but is not limited to, the preparation of documents to assist with member-facing appointments, data entry, and search requirements for credit facilities.
  • Organize filing of all appropriate documents.
  • Prepare, review, and/or edit various forms of correspondence such as letters and reports.
  • Photocopy and organize documents for distribution, mailing, binding, and filing.
  • Assist in business development and relationship maintenance by calling from applicable lists to book appointments for the Financial Service Representative, Financial Advisor, and Branch Manager to help strengthen member relationships with 1st Choice.
  • Confirm booked appointments and assist member-facing staff with the preparation for a “full financial” discussion.
  • Actively manage a call schedule to ensure a balance between administrative support to member-facing staff and call lists for business development and relationship maintenance.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality with all client and departmental files.
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including executive, corporate staff, management, employees, and business and community partners.
  • Act as a first point of contact and provide general information to staff, clients, and the public relating to their questions, concerns, or suggestions.
  • Answer telephone and electronic inquiries and relay telephone calls and messages.
  • Refer and/or redirect calls, emails, or visitors as required.
  • Present a positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees, clients/customers, visitors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Review all documents, reports, and correspondence prepared for staff signatures for format, content, grammar, and spelling; make edits as necessary.
  • Assists Branch Manager/Assistant Branch Manager with other duties and assignments as requested.

Who You Are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to support members in achieving their financial goals.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a related industry, with a basic understanding of underwriting, processing, and industry regulations.
  • Strong financial literacy, including the ability to read and calculate figures such as interest rates, percentages, and discounts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities and a superior telephone manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with members, staff, and the public in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional manner at all times.
  • Well-organized and adaptable, with proven time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and self-sufficient, comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
