Position Summary
The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs center, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.

Under the direction of the Senior Contracts Manager, the Contracts Administrator will be responsible, during the project execution phase, for the administration of upstream and downstream contracts. The individual must have the ability to operate and manage at the executive level of the Project structure, typically in a Joint Venture environment.

Job Description

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies, and drafting contractual letters as needed.
  • Prepare prime contractor payment requests and review and process subcontractors’ payment applications for preparation of certificate of payment.
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress, financial status, and contract performance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in, prepare for internal stakeholder and or client/subcontractor meetings as required.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all commercial activities, including contract documents, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks associated with the project.
  • Perform clerical duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and document management.
  • Formulation and negotiation of requests for changes, claims (including details, additional costs and time requests).
  • Insurance claims administration.
  • Undertake assigned commercial tasks under guidance of Senior Contracts Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with the current health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Senior Contracts Manager with any other daily commercial/contractual activities as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying / Construction Management / Business or other relevant discipline preferred or equivalent proven experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role in Contracts Administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft skills (MS Office) and able to learn new systems.
  • Strong proficiency of the English language, oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship development skills.
  • International major contractors experience in joint venture environments preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a diverse team and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and analyze problems and provide solutions.
  • Ability to self-manage, be solution oriented, be organized and be flexible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
