AiM Land & Environmental Services has an opportunity for a Indigenous Relations Field Representative to join our team. - Coordinate and facilitate site visits, field tours, and Project meetings with Indigenous communities.
- Act as the primary field liaison between Indigenous community representatives and Project personnel.
- Support Indigenous Monitors during environmental, archaeological, construction, and regulatory field programs.
- Communicate Indigenous concerns, observations, and recommendations to the Project team in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare daily field reports documenting activities, discussions, observations, commitments, and follow-up actions.
- Track commitments, action items, and community feedback throughout field programs.
- Review Project maps, GIS data, and spatial information to coordinate field logistics and site visit planning.
- Navigate Project areas using maps, GPS, GIS applications, and aerial imagery.
- Coordinate daily field logistics, including meeting locations, travel routes, access permissions, and safety requirements.
- Participate in environmental, Traditional Land Use (TLU), and Indigenous Knowledge field programs as required.
- Support the implementation of Indigenous monitoring programs during construction.
- Assist with documenting culturally significant observations and communicating findings to the appropriate Project personnel.
- Maintain positive, respectful, and collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities, clients, regulators, and contractors.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with Project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team
- Experience working directly with Indigenous communities, Nations, or organizations.
- Knowledge of Indigenous consultation and engagement processes is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting field programs, environmental projects, construction, or resource development projects.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while representing AiM professionally in the field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience preparing field notes, daily reports, and tracking commitments.
- Ability to interpret maps, aerial imagery, GPS, and GIS/spatial information.
- Experience navigating remote and backcountry terrain.
- Comfortable operating or riding in ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, or other off-road vehicles.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Willingness to travel throughout Alberta and occasionally work extended hours or rotational field schedules.
- First Aid, ATV/UTV, defensive driving, and wilderness safety training are considered assets.
