Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal)

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Acheson, Alberta
Minimum Starting Wage: $50.00 and up, based on training, ability, and attitude (Plus overtime and comprehensive benefits)

The Opportunity:

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal) to join our busy service and maintenance team. If you have a strong background in mobile cranes, boom trucks, construction, or heavy-duty transport equipment, and are open to working on a variety of equipment, we want you to help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and major repairs on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Complete, incoming / outgoing inspections, commercial vehicle inspections (CVIP), and repairs.
  • Read and interpret complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Able to communicate with customers, and operators to accurately identify equipment faults and ensure timely repairs.
  • Work a 10 hour day (overtime after 8 hours), open to occasional field work and rotational Saturday coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate (Red Seal).
  • Proven experience working on cranes, boom trucks, or heavy hydraulic equipment.
  • Valid Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) license is highly preferred.
  • Clean Class 5 Driver's License (Class 1 or 3 with air brake endorsement is an asset).
  • Own set of standard and specialized personal tools.
  • Safety tickets (e.g., CSTS 2020, H2S Alive, First Aid) are an asset.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment A + D test, as well as a fitness test.
