Full job description
Hardy Sales is a family-owned food distribution company operating across Canada.
We're looking for an Import & Logistics Coordinator with at least 3 years’ experience in supply chain management, freight forwarding or international logistics. This individual is familiar with customs clearance procedures, detail-oriented, with the ability to problem-solve and manage priorities. This position will cross-train in the Operations department to serve as backup.
What You Will Do:
Imports: Manage all container imports from origin to final delivery
- Shipment Tracking: Monitor ocean/rail/land freight from international suppliers to multiple warehouses.
- Documentation & Customs Compliance: Carefully review essential shipping documents (commercial invoices, bills of lading, arrival notices, health certificates) to ensure compliance with customs/CFIA regulations.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as point of contact between overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and trucking companies.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot supply chain disruptions, manage delivery appointments, and resolve customs holds to prevent demurrage/detention/storage charges.

- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain SFC & HACCP documentation and ensure our practices are compliant (Safe Food for Canadians & Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain management, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
- Familiarity with cross-border trade processes, import quotas and customs clearance procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP software, freight tracking and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills to navigate fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.
- Attention to detail; ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism.
Work Location: In-office, full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
