Pediatric Therapy Assistant (Part-Time) – Mobile Pediatric OT Practice

Sunny Sprouts Therapy Services is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Pediatric Therapy Assistant to join our mobile pediatric occupational therapy practice in Vancouver.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who loves working with children and wants to gain experience supporting neurodivergent children through a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, play-focused approach.

You will work alongside a Registered Occupational Therapist to support children and families in their homes and community environments. This role includes hands-on experience with pediatric therapy, ongoing mentorship, and opportunities to grow your skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support children in achieving individualized therapy goals under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist
  • Engage children in fun, meaningful, play-based activities
  • Support development of skills related to:
  • Fine motor skills
  • Play and social participation
  • Self-care skills
  • Sensory regulation
  • Emotional regulation
  • School readiness
  • Build positive relationships with children and families
  • Communicate observations and progress with the supervising OT
  • Assist with preparing therapy materials and resources

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, patient, creative, and passionate about working with children
  • Respectful of neurodiversity and different communication styles
  • Comfortable working with children with autism and developmental differences
  • Reliable and able to work independently in community settings

Preferred experience:

  • Occupational Therapy Assistant / Physiotherapy Assistant
  • Behaviour Interventionist (BI)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • Psychology, education, kinesiology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or related studies - this position would be suitable for someone interested in going into occupational therapy
  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities
