Why this role is significant
Breakfast is one of the most memorable moments of a guest's stay. As a Breakfast Server, you play an important role in creating warm, personalized experiences that leave guests feeling genuinely cared for and looking forward to their next visit.
You'll create meaningful connections with guests while providing attentive table service, coordinating restaurant and room service, and working closely with the kitchen and your teammates to deliver a seamless dining experience. Your warmth, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate guest needs help turn an ordinary breakfast into a memorable farewell.
A day in the life
No two mornings are exactly the same. You'll begin by preparing your section, ensuring everything is stocked and ready before welcoming the first guests of the day. Throughout your shift you'll:
- Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately using our POS system.
- Serve breakfast, coffee, specialty beverages, and room service with efficiency and care.
- Recommend menu items and create personalized dining experiences.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure timely service.
- Process payments accurately and maintain a clean, organized dining room.
- Support your teammates during busy service periods while helping create a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
What we hope you'll bring to the team
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys making people feel welcome.
You'll be successful if you have:
- Serving It Right Certification.
- Previous serving or hospitality experience (preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and organized.
- A positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering exceptional guest service.
- The ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Most importantly, you'll enjoy creating memorable guest experiences and working alongside a team that supports one another.
What's in it for you
Enjoy a range of employee perks, including:
- 50% off staff meals while working
- Complimentary hotel stays
- Friends & Family accommodation discounts
- 50% off spa treatments
- Discounts on spa retail products
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- A supportive team culture that values learning, growth, and development
- Opportunities to build your hospitality career at one of Vancouver Island's premier boutique resorts
At Brentwood Bay Resort, we believe that a wide range of experiences can contribute to your success in this role. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply if you believe you'd be a great fit.
We'd love to hear from you! Please note that while we appreciate every application, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
