We are presently searching for a full time Hotel Maintenance / Shift Engineer to join our team of hospitality professionals.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and complete report work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep the product quality standard.
• Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement.
• Assist in checking and making routine repairs of all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipe lines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.
• Service the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; completing maintenance request forms and record logs.
• Maintain the building exterior and “curb appeal” (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures if needed.
• Respond to guest’s maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient prompt and courteous service to Hilton and Crescent standards.
• Maintain the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel including physical, mechanical, electrical, plumbing etc.
• Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all areas of responsibility.
• Ensure the proper use and periodic maintenance of all equipment.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Maintenance within a Hotel environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and commercial mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of general maintenance aspects (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting & vinyl).
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50lb
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communication and guest service skills.
• Team player and a self-starter with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as a team, as required.
• Ability to contribute to a positive guest experience
• Awareness of environmentally sound practices.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and as necessary to meet the guests’ and team member needs.
• Awareness of WHMIS & general workplace safety
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
