STATUS: Permanent Full Time
REPORTS TO: Director of Care (DOC)

Position summary
The Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) reports directly to the Director of Care (DOC) and works collaboratively with the leadership and multidisciplinary care team to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident-centred care.
The RCC is responsible for assessing and planning resident care, coordinating clinical activities, supporting nursing and care staff, and contributing to the efficient day-to-day operations of the care department.
The RCC must practise in accordance with the standards, scope of practice, ethical requirements, and applicable legislation governing Registered Nurses in British Columbia, including the standards and requirements of the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Key responsibility
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- In conjunction with the DOC and leadership team, support compliance with applicable licensing, regulatory, legislative, and organizational requirements
- Assist with new and ongoing complaints, investigations and follow-up activities as directed by the DOC
- Responsible for resident admission assessments as directed by the DOC, including attending off-site admission assessments as required
- Coordinate and participate in resident medication reviews
- Schedule, coordinate, and chair multidisciplinary care conferences with residents, families, and/or Powers of Attorney (POAs), as appropriate
- In conjunction with the DOC, monitor tasks assigned to Lead Nurses and Clinical Care Team Lead and follow up on identified concerns as required
- In conjunction with the DOC, monitor Most Responsible Nurse (MRN) responsibilities and support nursing staff in meeting clinical and organizational expectations.
- Provide input and feedback regarding performance evaluations of nursing and care staff as requested by the DOC.
- Receive, review, and process medication error and medication-related incident reports, and ensure appropriate follow-up in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Current, full registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in British Columbia with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM);
- A minimum of two years of recent, related nursing experience; equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered;
- Current CPR certification and First Aid certification, as required;
- Demonstrated clinical competency and sound knowledge of nursing practice;
- Experience in long-term care, complex care, seniors' care, or a related clinical setting is considered an asset
- A demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and lifelong learning;
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills;
- The ability to multitask, plan, organize, prioritize a high volume of work, and meet deadlines;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills;
- The ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, empathy, patience, and professionalism while maintaining a caring and respectful approach with residents, families, and team members;
- A commitment to resident-centred care, dignity, privacy, safety, and quality improvement.
Note:
· A criminal record check is required in accordance with the Criminal Records Review Act for individuals working with vulnerable adults. Long-term-care employees who work with vulnerable adults are subject to BC's criminal record screening requirements.
· TB screening/testing is required in accordance with organizational policy and applicable public-health requirements.
Pay: $105,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
