Summary:

Gentle Graces is seeking a qualified and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join their agency roster. The successful candidate(s) will be on-boarded as an independent contractor.

The candidate(s) must have experience working in retirement homes and/or long-term care facilities and will demonstrate a strong commitment to providing safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care. This position involves delivering comprehensive nursing services across various healthcare settings, including long-term care & retirement facilities, and private residences. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, manage competing priorities effectively, and maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations. Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team are essential.

**Candidates will be onboarded as independent contractors and will be responsible for transportation, certification costs, insurance, and invoicing the agency for hours worked.**

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze health status data.
  • Analyze patient information.
  • Communicate appropriately with patients, family, and facility staff members.
  • Identify and assess patients' needs.
  • Coordinate and supervise patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with health care team members.

Qualifications:

  • Training certification and expiry
  • Good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • First aid/CPR certification and expiry
  • Vulnerable sectors check
  • Vaccinations up to date

Assets:

  • G-class license
  • Private contractors' insurance
  • Bilingual (En + Fr/etc.)
  • Prior experience in nursing homes, hospitals, or assisted living facilities is highly preferred.
  • Background in home care or medical office settings is beneficial.
  • Experience with pain management strategies and case management practices is a plus.
