Overview

Join our dedicated team as a School-Based Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) Supervisor. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee our child care programs serving children from 2.5 to 12 years of age, including a Nursery School, Preschool and Before- and After-School (BAS) programs within a Toronto District School Board setting. The ideal candidtate brings strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of early learning, and a commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and engaging activities. The candiate can work professionally and collaboratively with families and colleagues to create positive learning experiences and complies with the legislative requirements of the Ministry of Education's Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Toronto Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and with the policies and Program Statement developed by Dalemount Child Care.

Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of the preschool and BASP programs within the TDSB environement
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to RECEs, ECAs/assistants, and support staff
  • Ensure full compliance with Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Toronto Children's Services Assessment ofr Quality Improvement (AQI), and all licensing requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with school administration, TDSB staff, and community partners
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with families and caregivers
  • Support curriculum plannin and implementation aligned with How Does Learning Happen and responsive, play-based learning
  • Manage staffing schedules, attendance, documentation and program records
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, inclusion and well-being for all children
  • Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture
  • Schedule and prepare monthly Board of Directors meetings

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Early Childhood Education program at an accredited institution recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Certification as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Employment or school placement experience working with children and families in a multicultural integrated setting
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in early learning or licensed child care
  • Supervosry or leadership experience in a school-based or multi-program setting is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of CCEYA, HDLH, inclusive practices, and AQI expectations
  • Computer proficicency, includign comfort with digital documentation, email communication, attendance system, and basic administrative software
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving abilities
  • Current Vulnerbale Sector Check, Standard First Aid & CPR-C
  • Experience working in partnership with school boards
