NOW HIRING: ASPHALT RAKERMAN — Competitive Pay (Weekly!), Full Benefits
8-Ball Paving | Calgary, AB

Reporting to the foreman, our Asphalt Rakerman rakes and spreads hot mix to grade — eliminating seams, cleaning up edges, and making sure every joint matches tight to existing asphalt. If you've got the experience and the precision this trade demands, we want you on our crew.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Raking and spreading asphalt mixes to proper grade — precision and detail work, every time
  • Joint-matching new asphalt tight to existing surfaces
  • Smoothing out honeycombs and other defects after tamping/rolling
  • Working as part of a team to keep the job moving efficiently
  • Following and actively promoting our safety program, including safety meetings

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years experience raking asphalt
  • Minimum 3 years experience on a road maintenance crew
  • Valid, clean Class 5 driver's license
  • Own transportation to and from work
  • CSA-approved steel-toed work boots
  • Physically fit, able to lift 20 lbs+, and ready for long hours (weekends and overtime as needed)
  • Quick to pick up new techniques and information
  • Safety certifications an asset
