Salary: $23 - $35/hr

Reports to: Operations Manager / Site Supervisor

CMCS is a family-owned carpentry company founded in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2016. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and have a great appreciation for efficiency. Our company's main focus is home building and remodelling with a specialty in custom framing and fine finishing. Our mission is to further the next generation of carpenters by providing opportunities for skill sharing and team building in residential construction.

Job Description:

Carpenters complete tasks provided by the Operations Manager. Skilled Carpenters must have a minimum of 5-10 years of carpentry experience, a strong understanding of math, be capable of using hand and power tools efficiently and effectively, and are expected to maintain a clean jobsite and perform workflow as directed by Operations Manager / Lead Carpenter.

Responsibilities:

  • Take instructions from Operations Manager & Lead Carpenters.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Understand all Design & Architectural drawings for upcoming projects
  • Use all hand tools and power tools with no supervision
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of math, including fractions, geometry, metric & imperial
  • Record daily activities digitally to be submitted to the Operations team on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of carpentry/construction experience
  • Ability to lift 50-70lbs on a daily basis
  • Have a strong understanding of math, including fractions, geometry, metric & imperial
  • Extensive knowledge of house framing, deck framing, window & door hanging, and finish work (residential construction)

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 8am - 4pm

Operating hours are between 7am-6pm with standard hours being 8am-4pm.
