Full job description

Position Summary

Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Assistant to support Northern Health.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of the Manager or designate, the Program Aide supports Specialized Services clinics by performing duties such as maintaining inventories of medical/surgical supplies, biologicals and equipment, cleaning and sterilizing equipment and instruments, and performing related administrative support duties.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday-Wednesday, Days, 08:30 to 17:00

Qualifications
  • Grade 12
  • Office Assistant Certificate
  • Recent, related experience of one year or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience or other qualifications deemed to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Ability to type 45 wpm.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Ability to work with clients with varying complex needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques and procedures.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
