• Keyera’s Northern Allowance is a tiered incentive program based on years of service, currently offered to employees working at the following locations: Grande Prairie Office, Wapiti, Simonette, Gold Creek, South Cheecham, and Fox Creek Terminal. The Role:

Are you an upcoming or recent graduate eager to start your career in operations within the energy industry? Keyera is looking for a New Graduate Plant Operator to join our team. This role provides hands-on experience in plant operations, safety, and process optimization, helping to build the next generation of energy professionals.

You will be based at the Strachan Gas Plant, a steam facility located southwest of Rocky Mountain House. As a Plant Operator, you will perform operating assignments on plant equipment and maintenance of a safe working environment within the gas processing facility. You will work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule (please note this is not a camp position.) For success candidates must reside within 80 KMs of the Strachan Gas Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily operation of the Strachan Gas Plant.
• Responsible for daily operating assignments on plant equipment and processes.
• Operate the facility in a safe, economical, and efficient manner using quality principles.
• Work with the team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.
• Monitor facility readings, product sampling, and quality control.
• Assist with contractors, driver orientation, and supervision for on-site operations.
• Participate in the review, modification, or development of facility procedures.
• Support Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance Teams with various projects.

What we are looking for: We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who is passionate and eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:

• 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (Candidates who have passed ALL 3rd Class ABSA exams and require Steam Time will also be considered). Must have graduated in the past 24 months.
• Technical diploma from NAIT/SAIT (or relevant diploma/degree from an accredited institution) is an asset.
• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
• Self-starter who can work independently with a minimum of supervision.
• Strong team player with proven communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
• At the sole discretion of management, other combinations of directly relevant experience and educational credentials will be considered.
• Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG, and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
• Physically able to perform all components of the position.
• This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the facepiece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
• This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
