Position: IT Systems Administrator

Location: St Paul, Lac La Biche, Cold Lake, Gregoire regions

We are seeking experienced IT technicians currently living in or willing to relocate to the St Paul, Lac La Biche areas. This position serves our customer base throughout the north East Alberta, with each day bringing you to different client locations across the region.

About the Role:

As an IT Systems Administrator, you'll provide vital technology support to Indigenous communities and organizations across northern Alberta. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a real difference by ensuring reliable IT infrastructure for clients between Edmonton and Fort McMurray area and Cold Lake region, Lac La Biche and St Paul and locations in-between. If you are not currently residing in these areas, you must be prepared to relocate.

Employment Details:

  • Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Travel: Daily travel to client sites required (100%)
  • Location Requirement: Must reside in or relocate to the St Paul, Lac La Biche regions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain servers, operating systems, and virtualization platforms
  • Provide on-site IT support to clients, troubleshooting and resolving system issues
  • Oversee cloud environments and ensure optimal system performance and availability
  • Implement and monitor backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical data
  • Support and maintain internal Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
  • Ensure system security through patch management, firewalls, and user access controls
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute IT strategies and plans
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional on-site service and support

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in IT systems administration
  • Certifications: Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), AWS, or Linux certifications are an asset
  • Strong knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with network protocols and firewall management is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and time management abilities
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites daily
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the St Paul, Lac La Biche areas
