Company Overview

Fingold and Fosbery Professional Corporation, Chartered Professional Accountants, specializes in providing tax, accounting, assurance, and consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses, individuals, and not-for-profit enterprises. Now in our fortieth year and continuing to expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and help meet the growing demand for our services. As we expand, we offer an excellent opportunity for your professional growth. The successful candidate is highly organized, working towards or has a CPA designation complimented with 3 to 5 years of public accounting work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with a wide range of Audit, Review, and Compilation engagements
  • Understand and apply HST.
  • Caseware- initiate, balance, link and complete the file.
  • Analyze financial information, accounting processes and operations procedures; provide account reconciliations and propose adjusting entries.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and related note disclosures.
  • Ensure financial statements and note disclosures are in accordance with Canadian generally accepted accounting principles (ASPE only).
  • Assess risk, controls, operational performance, and adherence to GAAP.
  • Prepare corporate personal and personal income tax returns.
  • Liaise with CRA on follow ups,
  • Accounting and bookkeeping with QuickBooks.

Qualifications and other requirements

  • CPA designation (or working towards) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in audit and assurance required.
  • Knowledge of ASPE standards required.
  • Proficiency with Caseware or other accounting software is essential.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro or other accounting software is essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) required.
  • Familiarity with various accounting programs and software is considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to a professional standard
  • Strong work ethic
