Full job description

The Line Cook position is responsible for producing all menu items in an efficient and consistent manner while following the specifications, recipes, and techniques of our new restaurant MC Bar & Grill

  • Requires a minimum of one-year previous line cook experience.
  • A valid Food Safe certification is required for this position.

General Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of food specifications, plating and equipment
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Commitment to maintain a positive work environment
  • Ability to speak fluent English
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure consistency and compliance with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of all menu items and specials
  • Setup and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area including dish pit, fridges, and freezers
  • Assist in start-of-shift and end-of-shift duties to open and close the restaurant
  • Answer, report, and follow Culinary Leader and/or General Manager instructions

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kelowna, BC V1W 2H8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Kitchen: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
