Our vibe isrelaxed elegance where guests feel welcome, not stuffy. We bring high quality food, live charcoal grill, craft drinks and genuine hospitality.

We’re looking for a driven, experienced Restaurant Supervisor to help us build something exceptional from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, systems, and guest experience of a brand-new restaurant from day one.

Daily Operations

  • Lead and oversee all front of house operations during service, ensuring a seamless guest experience that balances warmth with attention to detail
  • Manage the flow of the dining room. Coordinate reservations, seating, and table turns to maximize covers without rushing guests
  • Act as the primary liaison between FOH and kitchen teams, ensuring clear communication during service.
  • Handle guest feedback with professionalism and care, turning issues into loyalty-building moments.

Staff Management

  • Recruit, hire, and train all FOH staff: servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussers. Building the team from scratch for our grand opening.
  • Create and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and team meetings to maintain high standards

Financial & Business

  • Monitor daily sales, labour costs, and FOH expenses to meet profitability targets
  • Manage cash handling procedures and end-of-day reconciliation
  • Control FOH inventory including liquor, wine, bar supplies, and service materials
  • Collaborate with ownership on marketing initiatives, special events, and promotional strategies

Guest Experience & Compliance

  • Be the face of Ember: build relationships with regulars and cultivate a loyal clientele
  • Oversee the cocktail and wine program, ensuring staff have deep product knowledge to guide guests confidently
  • Maintain full compliance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) food safety standards in all FOH areas
  • Ensure all AGLC liquor regulations are followed at all times
  • Uphold Ember’s standards for cleanliness, ambiance, and presentation throughout the dining room, bar, and guest areas

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant supervisory experience, with a strong track record in FOH leadership
  • Experience in a steakhouse dining environment where service quality and guest experience are priorities
  • Valid ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Deep knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and cocktail service
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to recruit, train, and retain high-performing teams
  • Financial literacy: comfortable reading P&L statements, managing budgets and controlling costs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Preferred:

  • Experience with restaurant openings or launching new concepts
  • Familiarity with Lightspeed POS system
  • Experience with Jolt Management Software
  • First Aid certification
  • Food Safety certification

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Performance bonuses tied to sales targets and guest satisfaction
  • Complimentary staff meals during shifts
  • Health benefits package
  • A rare opportunity to build a restaurant from the ground up
  • Career growth potential

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
