OVERVIEW

The Guest Service Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while efficiently processing guest orders and payments. The Cashier serves as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring every interaction is friendly, accurate, and professional. This role is responsible for operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately packing guest orders, maintaining a clean and organized front counter, assisting with guest inquiries, and supporting daily restaurant operations in accordance with company standards and brand requirements.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum 6 months restaurant and customer service experience is required
• Food Handler Certification required
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest service and creating friendly, fast, and memorable guest experiences
• Excellent communication skills and professional telephone etiquette
• Friendly, professional demeanor with a positive attitude
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Accuracy and attention to detail when processing orders, packing orders, handling cash, and managing multiple order channels
• Basic mathematical skills and experience handling cash transactions
• Ability to operate a POS system, third-party delivery platforms, and restaurant technology systems with accuracy
• Ability to learn and adapt to new technology, including delivery tablets and online ordering platforms
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to teamwork and maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Professional appearance and presentation consistent with company standards

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES

• Demonstrate enthusiasm and professionalism while delivering exceptional guest service on every interaction
• Greet every guest in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner
• Accurately enter guest orders into the POS system and process all payment methods, including cash, debit, credit cards, gift cards, and other approved payment methods
• Process payments accurately, provide correct change, and ensure all transactions are completed efficiently
• When assigned, perform restaurant opening and closing POS procedures, including opening and closing cash floats, balancing cash drawers, completing end-of-day POS settlement, preparing all required cash reconciliation reports, and completing all required opening and closing checklists accurately and on time.
• Monitor and manage third-party delivery platforms and online ordering systems, ensuring orders are accepted, processed, and communicated accurately
• Ensure delivery tablet notifications are monitored throughout the shift and address order issues or delays promptly
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, ingredients, promotions, restaurant policies, and online ordering options in person and over the telephone
• Accurately pack dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering orders, ensuring all food items, beverages, condiments, cutlery, napkins, and special requests are included
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of every order before it is provided to the guest or delivery driver
• Organize, label, and prepare takeout and delivery orders for efficient guest pickup and third-party delivery services
• Communicate effectively with delivery drivers and assist with pickup coordination as required
• Coordinate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order preparation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, beverage station, dining room, packaging area, and guest service areas
• Perform regular dining room and front entrance walkthroughs to ensure tables, floors, condiment stations, windows, doors, and guest areas are clean, organized, and maintained to company standards
• Monitor cleanliness of guest washrooms and complete cleaning and restocking duties as required to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
• Replenish front counter supplies, beverages, condiments, packaging materials, and takeout supplies as required
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate
• Follow all company policies related to cash handling, fraud prevention, food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety
• Report equipment malfunctions, operational concerns, delivery platform issues, or safety hazards promptly to management
• Support other restaurant duties, including cleaning and maintenance tasks, and assist fellow team members as required to ensure efficient restaurant operations and a positive guest experience

GENERAL

• Fluent in English and effective communication with guests, team members, and management
• Compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and safety procedures is required
• Must maintain professional behaviour, confidentiality, and team-oriented conduct
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Perform other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations and brand standards
