This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in CNC programming, machine setup, and precision measurement while supporting innovative projects across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor 5-axis CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls to produce intricate parts from metals and plastics.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software, ensuring efficient machining processes.
  • Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD models to accurately produce components.
  • Perform precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to tooling, machine operation, or programming.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling fixtures for setup adjustments and minor repairs.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly processes involving plastics injection molding or welding when necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of production runs, inspection reports, and machine logs for quality assurance purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating 5-axis CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems.
  • Strong background in CNC programming using CAM software; familiarity with SolidWorks and CAD is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings for complex parts fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and precision measurement techniques.
  • Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other manufacturing machinery.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances accurately.
  • Experience working within lean manufacturing environments or plastics injection molding facilities is advantageous.
