Job Summary:

Sofia is looking for a Server that will be responsible for providing high-levels of customer service to all restaurant patrons by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.

Servers will perform customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, and ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Taking, delivering and ensuring food is accurate based on the customer’s wishes, with any accompaniments that belong.
  • Maintain section cleanliness; cleaning the table during and after the meal or drink service.
  • Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
  • Ensure that customers are correctly charged, present the bill and take payment from the customer, in accordance with the procedures of the establishment.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and comply with all restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Complete side duties based on the restaurant’s needs.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Well-organized with ability to take orders accurately.
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work with a calm professional manner at all times.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have SMART serve.
  • Must successfully complete the restaurant's training course.
  • Food Handler Certification is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Balancing trays of food and or drink.
