Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our team!
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and conduct various Streetcar Way Engineering projects ranging from large to small and long-term to short-term, from initial planning to completion.
- Represent TTC at pre-construction and construction meetings with stakeholders including contractors, consultants, city representatives and developers. Liaise with external agencies for compliance with codes, regulations and government guidelines.
- Provide project control support for all aspects of the Capital Budget preparation and monitoring, as well as cost analysis and cost reconciliations for assigned projects.
- Perform a variety of cost/budget studies and research assignments, requiring analysis and interpretation of data.
- Monitor progress and performance against established terms of reference and work plans.
- Prepare variance reports and explanations for management, identifying potential problem areas and recommending corrective action as required.
- Coordinate the preparation of weekly and monthly reports related to future project requirements, workload forecasts, and performance measurement reporting.
- Organize, attend and prepare minutes for meetings, and convene special meetings as directed by the Manager/Project Manager, with members of the TTC project team, designer(s), consultant(s), operations staff and other parties;
- Track and monitor outstanding project issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program. Demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (i.e. Civil or Mechanical Engineering) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of project management concepts and practices including stakeholder management, budgeting, cost control and scheduling techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various engineering design principles; ability to read and interpret contract documents and other technical documentations.
- Proficiency in software applications relevant to the work including MS Office and MS Project; Proficiency in Maximo is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of construction related practices, construction inspection, codes, standards and regulations including the Construction Lien Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Sound understanding of procurement/contracting principles, the development of contract documents, and the tender evaluation/award process.
- Familiarity with technical matters related to engineered products/equipment, construction services and engineering/construction issues including sources for material supplies and services.
- Knowledge of property law, union and trade agreements and contracts.
- Sound judgement; well-developed analytical, administrative and leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be tactful, diplomatic and possess a high degree of interpersonal skills to communicate and deal with people effectively in difficult and stressful situations.
